Frequently Asked Questions

1) Do I have to have any experience to be able to take the course?
Absolutely none! However, you do need to practice the knowledge and technique you have learnt in real life. In our course we will guide you towards obtaining competency.
2) I looked at your website, but I still have some queries – how can I get answers?
You can contact us by email clinicahealthcare@outlook.com or by completing the online query form, click here.
3) What is your class size?
To be able to give the best teaching and training we can with enough time to practise on the mannequin, we have limited the class size to between 8 and 12 trainees
4) Do I have to prepare for the course?
Bring a pen and a notebook, arrive on time and you will be ready! Everything else is provided – including tea, coffee and biscuits.
5) What is the programme on the day?
Once you have booked the course, a full and detailed programme will be emailed or sent to you along with a short questionnaire for you to fill out. The day starts at 09:30 and ends at around 17:30 with two fifteen-minutes breaks and one hour-long lunch break.
6) Is there a pass/fail mark? In other words do I have to sit a test at the end?
NO. Your progress will be assessed throughout the day using different methods. A certificate of attendance/completion of training will be awarded at the end of the course.
7) Are your trainers/lecturers qualified?
The course is run by a team of qualified and experienced people from different specialities lead by a GP. They have experience in both the NHS and private sectors.
8) Do I get a nationally recognised certificate?
There are no formal requirements for phlebotomy training as there are no governing bodies in the UK. However, NHS trusts have come up with guidelines and frameworks for competency that we follow in our course.
9) If your certificate is not recognised nationally, what can I do with it?
With the certificate of attendance/completion, you will have a better chance of getting a job (bearing in mind that most phlebotomy applicants have no previous experience), and you will be ahead ofother applicants with your training confirmation. The certificate is a proof to your dedication, commitment and knowledge. You are ready to start practicing, and once you acquire practical competency you can apply to higher and better paid jobs with more opportunities than other candidates.
